I would willingly give you a plannet at the heart of my empire so I could farm it with drain plannet. I'd never have to worry about metal or crystal again.

Also, I think I'm going to stop caring about wins. If someone wants to drag the game out, I don't care. Although I have always toyed with the idea of going afk myself against an AFKer. Especially when all my allies are AI, and we're winning anyways.

Lets not limit by star system configuration. Allow a second capital after X amount of plannets. This would be applicable in online games which usually have only 1 star. It would also avoid the problem of those non-standard maps with a dozen stars and 2 plannets per star. Otherwise you'll end up with: "Look at me, I have 7 plannets and 5 capitals." The online gameplay would suffer from silly machanics like plannets randomly rebelling; in my opinion.
Personally, the game mode I want is "there can only be X". Victory is declared once there are only X players left standing. So if you set it to "there can only be 3" then the game continues until all but three players have been knocked out. Perfect for unlocked teams. Sure, you could make a team of 4, but everyone knows a backstab would have to occur eventually...
Agreed. I've proposed this many times,

Take a page from Civilization. You can build a 2nd capital after you control a certain number of plannets. How about every 15 plannets you control grants you an additional semi-homeworld. Also, if your homeworld is destroy you lose all your semi-homeworlds as well. (Not lose them completely, just have them no longer be semi-homeworlds). This is to preserve the "strike at the heart of your enemy" concept. Main reason I like this idea is

I propse a game where the host can set a time limit. Once the time limit has been reached then each player has his point totalled and winners are declaired. Point come from the currently existing system which ranks fleets, research, income, etc. There are 9 categories (perhaps more in diplomacy?) You'll notice that a system is already in place which colors the number in a gradient between green and red (with yellow in between). Completely red numbers get no points,

It couldn't hurt. But it doesn't matter where credits come from, so long as they're coming. It might be useful for ddetermining where enemies have the most income at. But this is easy to tell. Pro Tip: The desert with 9 trade ports has high income. If this is easy to implement into the game, and doesn't distract from more important issues. Then I think it's a great idea.

If I may quote from Darvin3 in the original post I made many months ago:
I'd agree; this is a fundamental flaw with unlocked teams as it's implemented currently. There only needs to be one loser. While the AI's are a bit psychotic (to say the least) and this keeps things interesting in singleplayer, in multiplayer humans just end up forming an overpowering team and claiming victory. Hopefully the next expansion addresses this, and I agree limiting the number of win

I don't think it is, but I don't know for sure. Taxing might be a good idea to encourage everyone to fleet up.

My friend without internet access will be very excited if this is available on a disk without DRM -- Actually, he doesn't mind DRM, but can't perform an online activation. Will he ever be able to play the expansions? PS - In antcipation of responses describing how easy it is to get internet access, I'm looking for a simple yes or no.

I'll get on my "Allied Victory" soap box and say that the AI would be best to stay allied with you. If the AI thinks "this guy is to powerful, I should attach him now to ensure my own victory," to me this implies that there is a limit to the number of people who can win, which is what I've been pushing for. See my "Allied Victory" post. Currently, every single player can win (not a single loser), so there is no logical reason for the AI to "think" about betraying you.&nb

I posted this some time ago, but will bring it up again. https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/356786
We need a feature for FFA's which will allow the host to define the number of possible victors. This could be implemented into the Locked Teams field in game options. In Age of Empires this was called "Allied Victory." It would allow: Locked Teams - Team are predefined and simple. One reason I like this game is that the games are slower. There's no shortage of 15-minute strategy games if that's what you want to play.

Most people have been having trouble on ICO today. They cannot see player statusus and option when in the pre-game room. If you turn off alloy you can host (if your ports are set up right), and then people can play.

Just allow us to set our own modifier variable for the AI. You can play an ai getting a 2.0x resource modifier. Or a 0.5x modifier. Or a 10.0x modifier if you want a challenge. My initial impression is this is the only difference between the difficulties anyways?

I think the definitive arguement was made: We'll set up a game with you against a pro. You can employ any and every extream inbalance in your own favor (build all the starbases you want), and the pro will not be allowed to build any starbases. We will then see that proper fleet use can overcome any starbase.

First, know that obtaining large plannets (like terran or desert) first takes a long time and pays off slowly. Your better off grabbing asteroids and smaller plannets first. Second, learn the counter. You can find the information here on the forums. Learn what units counter which, and then try to match your fleet to counter the enemies.
