I think it sucks that the "skilled" players aren't willing to take a loss every once in a while.
I agree; what more can I say? As for smurfs. It would be nice to put an end to it. There is something worse than smurfing though, and that is those who throw a tantrum and make baseless claims of smurfing every time someone new shows even the most basic understanding of the game.

I used to be able to play for a good two hour or so before I would be "Disconnected From Ironclad Online" during gameplay. Today though, I haven't been able to stay in a game more than about 15 mins before I get the dreaded message. Anyone else notice that it happens more frequently?
What if there was no limit on the amount of crystal or metal available, but the price fall off was just very slow, or non existant. This way buying lots of crystal would result in crystal costing 1000 or so, quite expensive. Currently I never even look at the prices, as they rarely leave the 400 - 500 range. It just doesn't matter.
I sympathise with you and personally I will (as a experienced player) leave the game myself if the host kicks someone like you who has been waiting for awhile. One time me and 2 other were tired of it, we left the game, started our own smaller game, and rounded up the players that had been kicked. As we were about to start the larger game with the rude kicking host was still waiting for people. I invite all to join me to stop this behavior.&
3 is a must and has been suggested by myself more than once. Currently a FFA can end by all 10 players just forming a mass alliance and everyone wins, then sings combiah (sp?) in the chatroom. Just silly.
Did you reach the chat room? Can you speak and see yourself speaking/chatting? If not, I believe you must create a username for yourself. Click on add player and make up a name you wish to be known as. You can have as many aliases as you want.
LOL, it's true. The "cars" are about the size of a entire state. Then there is the typical capital ship which has about 2 billion people on board (judging by size compaired to plannet).
Matching credits so they are directly compairable to modern currency shouldn't be a high priority IMO. These are undefined units, make them equal to whatever you want.
Your missing the biggest factor of all, refineries trump trade by the fallowing behavior. You may have 200 creds per second coming it, but it's all null and void if I have the resource income to match it. I put my resoucres up for sell, you buy like crazy and all the money goes into my account. Resouce prices inflate (they fall back to default at too fast a rate IMO), and I get more and more credits for every 100 metal/crystal I sell you. Remember this
What options are there for counter mass flak and lrm (thinking of Vasari, but any race really). By mass I mean like 50 of each. Scounts = dead by flak. Light Frigs = dead by lrm. LRM = fighting fire with fire isn't a counter, plus flak win against lrm. Flak = fire with fire, not a counter. Fighters = Dead by flak. Capitals Ships = Dead by lrm (especially Assailants). Are heavy cuisers the only option?
A good game sword. I don't see that anyone had a great advantage. It does show that having your feeder randomly disconnect can hurt a team, but nothing else IMO. Thanks for the replay.
...so there are options to slow down the game speed.
When the game lags it speeds up aftewards to make up for it from my observations. If there is a lot of lag at the beginning the game will go very fast. One evidence of this is if you participate in a 2 hour game, as measured by your clock, it will report a 2 hour game in the stats, and indeed it was 2 hours worth of gameplay, despite the fact that there was probably bits of lag scattered through the game.
Just awesome. Arch does't relocate his homeworld, simply unforgivable. Ech trash talks then complains when he falls into a PJI/Gravity Warhead trap. Major spends 30 mins taking pot shots at a starbase, then consoles himself by stating that he could beat anyone in a 1v1, as if it has any relevance in the 5v5 he joined. Funny thing is the only civil "enemy" was Zanglos. He also happens to be the only one who didn't rage quit and uninstall.
http://www.filefront.com/14426725/AutoRecord-Buttons_1.record/ A good 5v5 I participated in.
I'd be more interested in renaming the plannets to have more meaningful names. This way I could receive messages that Pluto is being bombardes instead of Riverska, which I always mix up with Ravirska. The current plannet names are just to unfamiliar.
Is it possible to create a 4th resource. Something in addition to credits, metal, and crystal? Like pizzas? I've always wanted to say "I have over 25,000 pizzas."
Great idea, I'm looking into this possibility. One easy change would be to make crystal used only for research and metal and credits for ships and structers and other things. This way crystal would be exclusively used on research and would ensure research continued throughout the game.
I was inspired by the game Homeworld which is the only RTS I'm aware of to offer free research. It goes a long way to put a natural time limit on the game because the game ending techs always arive after a certain amount of time. In Homeworld the more stations you built the faster you could progress down the research tree, so the only cost was the initial cost. I would like to implement such a system into Sins, but I'm not sure how to do it. Is it poss
http://www.filefront.com/14375917/TimedResearch_Entrench.rar This mod makes the fallowing changes to Entrenchment 1.03: All research is completely free. The catch is that research takes considerably longer. Tier 1 techs take 3 minutes each to research, tier 8 techs take 10 minutes. Eeach tiers research time increases by 1 minutes. (These times are for fast research speed. Normal speed will be 2 times longer than fast research speed.) </l
I achieved what I wanted. Thanks all. I didn't relize I had to use the convert utility provided with 1.03 to convert the binary files to text so I could edit them. I did this and it's working well.
I've found my problem. I assumed that the downloaded reference files would work, but I guess not. Now I'm trying the multitudes of convertdata programs out there, so far the ConvertData.exe packaged with the Forge Tools 3 is APPCRASHing.

I was playing a game and there were 4 planets in a line A ----- B ------ C ------- D. A and D were connected to others, but B and C were isolated in the middle of this line. I controled B and enemy had C. I spammed culture (3 on a asteriod), and began to influence the enemy on plannet C. I had a culture rate of 16.5. The enemy then builds ONE culture station at plannet C, which give it a culture rate of 10. This is enough to
I've also noticed a significant increase in ICO problems the last few days. There are also fewer players online. Surely the two are related.
