Their ship to ship combat is non-existent. Best counter is fighters. Basically any combat ship except flak is ok against them as well, they're really very squishy.
I was going to say, it would probably be wise to have the Orgrov group further divided into two groups, and attack from different sides. Then, even after the enemy destroys one group, the other group can fire several barrages before the enemy reaches them. However, tha

Can somebody give me more background on the broadcast centers in Rebellion? I understand that they are ideal for planets far from my capital world because they improve the stability of the planet. It's also my understanding that the culture spreads to other nearby wells which, if not controlled by me, would reduce the culture on that planet. The ability stacks, I assume, when creating more than one. A friend of mine was telling me that the centers can no longer be used to take over planet
It does make me wonder what I would use against a group of hostile Orgrovs. I might love using them, but I'd hate getting hit by them. What would be an effective counter, I wonder?
I don't believe so. None that were on the way to the border worlds. Like I said, I really needed to establish a second, small force to go out and acquire those. Do asteroid fields typically yield crystal deposits?
I mentioned this in one of my recent posts, but I chose to create a topic that focuses on it. I continue to appreciate the Orgrov Torpedo Cruiser. The combined might of 20 can bring a powerful starbase to its knees very quickly and any other base structures. I played with a friend of mine the other day and, as his fleet drew heat away from my cruisers, I quickly took down the starbase, several hangars, and other installations. He commented several times how impressed he was with the torp
Sorry for the length. Let me shorten that for the strategists that don't want to read a novel. Below is the short version, but for full detail, read above. Does anyone have suggestions to improve on the following (or issues with the following) strategy: instead of focusing on planets or asteroids behind or around my capital, I headed for the border worlds, wiping out militia, and colonizing wells along the way. By border worlds, I am referring to planets on the edge, or planets th
I would like feedback on something. I jumped into a pretty big, medium size map (1 star) against 3 AIs. I chose the TEC Loyalists with three AIs of normal difficulty: TEC Rebel, Advent Loyalist, and Advent Rebel. Instead of focusing on planets or asteroids behind or around my capital, I headed for the border worlds, wiping out militia, and colonizing wells along the way. By border worlds, I am referring to planets on the edge, or planets that the enemy has to pass through to get to me. <
I agree, they have a right - no one said they shouldn't. I will continue this conversation with you privately.
@Rovert and Fyrstar: Regarding your thoughts on the Advent Titans - are your thoughts still true after the changes they made in the recent patch? It looks like the Loyalist's Coronata Titan and Rebel's Eradica had a lot of changes to balance.
Btw, both Vasari Titans and Tech titans can be parked in a pirate base for leveling as well though the VRT has a much easier time with his 20HP per second drain for all enemy ships in range. Try kill this one with hundreds of HP and AM drained per second... It usually leaves the gravity wells without shields but full HP.
I did not know that. Wow. @Dinochimp: You're welcome (for the link). I also prefer TEC, but ho

Or finally: "Spending time playing this game for playtesting after paying 30$ is a honor, even though th
I'm sorry, 137, that my message rubbed you the wrong way. Yes, we did pay in advance to get the beta. And for me, personally, it is an honor to participate in the development of this game. It's not my life's work nor is it the honor of a lifetime, but it is something that I enjoy given my passion for the game. There are indeed more important things than Sins of a Solar Empire and gaming. I get the feeling that my message made me appear to you as someone without any goals in life.
It looks like the latest patch includes a lot of balancing updates, crash fixes, AI improvements, and miscellaneous tweaks. Awesome. I can't wait to see it. Thanks Ironclad. I want to also salute the ones reporting problems and helpful changes. The opportunity to beta test is an honor so we should continue to have fun with it, but not forget our mission. I've not been able to find very many issues, but I'll keep di
I had an idea that might be a cool addition to Rebellion or a future version. As you know, there is a meteor control upgrade for star bases. I haven't played with it yet, but I love the concept. It got me thinking - what about a solar flare upgrade that's only available to star bases around a star. It could somehow produce a solar flare or harness one to cause damage and maybe an EMP effect to nearby hostiles. Maybe it would also affect the star base and have a long cooldown. It would
Thanks Goa. None of us were running any mods. We will try to reproduce it with the game I saved. I'll also go ahead and send rebellionbeta the crash (dump file) that I mentioned. On my other question, does only the host auto save in a multiplayer game?
I just played the Random Huge (Multi) map with two friends on a LAN (all three of us allied). We discovered that two of us - Coridane and Orion - were in sync (in the same game) while the third - Kyonu - was not. He seemed to be in his own game. I believe we could chat with him and send him credits and mats (not sure on that), but I know that I sent him a trade pact, and he never received it. I remember him seeing different bounties than what I saw. I would also see planets that he contr
Hi, my name is Daniel, and I started playing Sins of a Solar Empire in 2011. I joined the forum in October '11 and have been really impressed with the community. There are a lot of friendly faces on here and experienced players who will answer your questions and flesh out important details that help you improve your game. I'm still improving, asking questions, learning from other players, and developing my own ideas through trial and error. I look at Sins as a challenge, and n
I meant to reply to this on Saturday. Your illustration helped. Thank you. On Sunday, I was playing a game, and my capital world was separated by space junk and other situations from a cluster of worlds so I started a trade route in that remote cluster. It worked. I even had one of my starbases connect one cluster to another with the trade port upgrade. However, in another star system, I tried to create a trade route that began with a desert planet, went through a moon,
My friend and I began a game earlier over ICO and then saved for a break. We later resumed on a LAN connection, requiring me to send him the two saved game files. It worked, but when he pressed 1 to access his group 1, it accessed my group 1.
Thanks Goa. I took your advice and now the lane goes through Tercidina and Echemmon. Assume you have gravity wells A, B, C, and D, I assumed you had to build a trade port in every well to have a route go from A to D. Consecutive ports to create a lane. But if I understand you correctly, if well A connects to B, and C, but well A also connects to D, E, and F, and F connects to C then I will want to build a route that goes through D, E, and F to get to C because it will have more p
I built a trade port on the moon of Tercidina and another on the desert world of Echemmon. When I hover over the credits, my trade route does not include them. See link . I am gathering a list of possible issues and I'll send them in one shot, after verifying that they haven't already been reported, but I wanted to go ahead and submit this one. Are moons not eligible for trading? If so, there should s

Yeah, that does send a completely different message, doesn't it? On another note, your amusing comment got a smile so thanks.
Lets make one thing clear which i don't think you seem to have grasped. How can you let an ai have the time to build many super weapons? Are you just building an empire or fighting a war? I find it difficult to grasp what in gods name your doing because tactically letting an ai reach that level of technology is bs. To me you sound like a Ai sympathizer and frankly speaking i hate Ai sympathizers. It Spoils a man.
Someone gave me karma for failing at karma. That's funny. :P
