What I dont like about it is that Phase Missile Swarm doesnt actually shoot phase missiles. I dont see why it shouldnt, I mean, it only makes sense. It can be tweaked to take into account the fact that Phase Missile research will give you uber damage, but as it stands now it takes too long to get the PMS + Volatile Nanites combo to work, compared to Malice and Cleansing Brilliance.
a Carrier (it is not so bad after all, if you understand the repair cloud's real purpose )
And what is its "real purpose"? I never used to build Overseers. Sure, their heal is only for a small 250 HP, and sure they only delay enemies phase jumps by half (should be twice, IMO), but heres the thing. That 250 HP is stackable. If my ship has 1000 HP and is down to 250, I can get 4 overseers to hit it with their ability and bring it up to

I like the idea of making ships more expensive the more you have. Each ship increases in price 10% every time you build 5 of them. I dont like the idea going on a ship-for-ship basis though, it would apply the claculations not on how many ships you ahve, but how many groups of 5 and ignore groups less than 5.

In Medieval II: Total War your units change as you upgrade them. The basic spear is just a stick with a pointed metal tip, the upgrade gives it barbs. Basic armor is just padded jackets, but upgrading them to chain mail gives them... chain mail! Two-handed swords first look dull and heavy, at tier 2 they look shiny and well-crafted, then at tier 3 they get wavy blades making them Flamberges. It really is a great game.
The Deliverance (aka the Culture Cannon you refer to) also gives your ships a temporary 15% damage bonus when they are in the gravity well of the affected planet.
Doesnt Advent also get a 10% shield mitigation bonus in their own culture in addition to a higher researchable mitigation level? Isnt that a bit overpowering to have all three? I think the Kostura should get the +15% damage bonus thing.

They should make "Create Strike Craft" an ability on teh carrier so L. Frigs abilities can be used againt the carriers

Nope. It just happened. The first time I hit some wierd key comination on accident trying to do ALT+SHIFT click on a Kostura to add it to my fleet of the others, and then it did this. The second time it happened I didnt even do anything. It just went poof.

I didnt do anything in particular, it just suddenly went like this. I thought I accidentally hit CTRL SHIFT Z or something but i noticed I still saw the text.
Yo I got a question of my own, it's a smart idea to scruffle your broadcast centers after you took total control of a system? After the friendly culture has already spread through out the system, of course. Culture doesn't spread over a star system without phase lanes, by the way.
I woud keep them around for the 10% bonuses to income and the like.

Another question, does the Vasari L. Frig antimatter ability even do anything to carriers? Since they use anitmatter to build fighters its not an ability and has no cooldown to effect! I dont even see how a Colbalt's ability can be effective.

Are starbases immobile? I was under the impression they were not. Phase Jump Inhibitors will allow Starbases to mess up any enemies attempting to just sprint through your system. I heard there were also new defenses that reduced sublight speed. Any word on those?

Vasari is best for hit-and-run tactics and "fighting dirty". Advent is supposedly best for slug-it-out battles. TEC is best for wars of attrition. I personally find the Vasari the best for slugging it out against huge fleets because of the carrier cap's Repair Cloud which, although seemingly mediocre, is actually quite powerful. You dont need to split your fleet into offense and defense fleets since phase gates mean you can get to anywhere fast from anywhere, so oyu can commit more sh
I heard that they can take on 6 caps and still win. Coupled with some decent defense they should be able to handle any midsized fleet.
Even if these caps use ablilites? I cant imagine how powerful it is if it can take out an egg and 5 desolators spamming Phase Missile Swarm and Nano-Disassembler...

What do you mean stacks? I like the idea for ship names, the Marza has "Dreadnought" written on its hull and if you look close you can see LRM on the Javelis frigs, and P4 or something on the colony frigs. I think writing on the Advent ships could look good if done right but might ruin their clean lines. Vasari ships look bad enough as it is though, and its not like Vasari is the same as English with the letters swapped for symbols. They should remain unmarked.<span style="font-family

I just send my Kortul into the middle of the enemy pack. Have you played the Total War series of games? I think what you're describing is like in that game, where you can select a unit, hold the riche mouse button and drag the mouse to change their orientation and depth and width. I can see that coming in handy when I want my fleet packed close for Repair Cloud or when I want them loose when I spot a level 6 Marza or Radiance with a Progenator.

I would like to take this oppertunity to ask that someone improves the fighter AI to include the following: No two fighter squads will attack the same bomber squad unless the fighter squads outnumber the bomber squads. Im sick of seeing 40 fighter squads streak towards one of 40 bomber squad and unleashing a flurry of missiles capable of taking out a cap ship's shields on a single bomber.

Micro managing is pretty useful. Subverters, Guardians, and Hokinshos should be taken out ASAP and micro is good for this. Also, some abilities NEED to be microed. Leaving Distortion Field on autocast will cause multiple Subverters to use it on the same targets within a short time span, and since the effect does not stack it means you're wasting time. Refineries are pretty much useless until late game. The cost of building refineries is larger than researching extraction bonuses, at l
